Roy Spence is not only the Co-Founder and Chairman of GSD&M and the Co-Founder and CEO of The Purpose Institute, a consulting firm that helps people and organizations discover and live their purpose, but he is also the ASPIRE Keynote for Tuesday afternoon.
With Spence’s leadership, GSD&M has helped grow some of the world’s most successful brands, including “Don’t Mess with Texas,” Wal-Mart, the PGA Tour, L.L. Bean, Dreamworks, and the U.S. Air Force. Roy has also been a trusted adviser to many corporate leaders, including Wal-Mart founder Sam Walton and Southwest Airlines founder Herb Kelleher. His guidance has also been sought by U.S. presidents and leaders in the U.S. Department of State.
Accomplishments that Roy has received include a lifetime achievement award from the Austin Advertising Federation, being named Adman of the Century boy Texas Monthly magazine, and being inducted into the McCombs School of Business Hall of Fame in 2012.
Roy’s main passion in life is entrepreneurship. He profoundly believes that entrepreneurship is the revelation of America. His mantra is “Don’t Do Mild” in life or work; follow your dreams, follow your passion, and follow your purpose.
